翻刻	Dear Nishida:- Thanks for your two kind letters. I have been away for a few days in Kyōtō, or I should have written you before. I refused the two posts offered me,—nominally, because they were offered at reduced salaries, really because I felt sure of being unkindly treated, and did not care to repeat the experiences of Kumamoto. Settsu and all are well. The little boy begins now to talk, and plays about. He is well able to run,—so that some one had to be constantly watching him.
